Laptop gamer here. When can we expect a 45W(ish) mobile 10nm chip from Intel? My 5th gen with a 980m is showing its age !

Why does no one include everyday software like Excel? Seriously, if you work with big workbooks which include sophisticated functions and stuff, CPU-Power is crucial.

"Finally here" as in the lowest powered laptops in very conservatives quantities... I'll wait for "Finally here" to actually mean what it says for the general audience :). Which for me at least will be another year or two it looks like...

But Cinebench is not real world. According to Intel you should not use that for testing.

The crappy situation is windows isn't as polished and compatible with Intel so it needs higher voltage processing and performs better when plugged on..
It's more horsepower to get lesser work done

I love what AMD is doing with Ryzen, but Intel is still the brand to go with for mobile CPUs. Intel mobile CPUs can be beat.

actually ... what u all wait for is comet lake... as he said ice like is the notebook / laptop sector... and comet lake the desktop sector... it wont have pcie 4 prolly since the rates to pcie 3 double so does the ratio of errors and your highend graphics only use a third to half of it on 3.0 already... its safe to say that graphics wont improve much except for integrated and onboard gpus / (thats cheaper in the long run) i dont enforce to buy intel.. intel had solutions of integrated graphics way before amd.. they know what they do... the purpose of this video should be to check and compare the gpu and cpu improvements for gamers who want to buy a laptop soon.

The industry has moved on and the standard is now 7nm with whispers of 6 and 5 in the halls of TSMC and GloFo. I don't even understand how Intel managed to get this far behind this quickly. And I'm not sure what they are going to do about it to try and catch up. Also AMD has not even released their laptop CPU's once those arrive it will be another fat nail in the intel coffin. I am an AMD fan always have been, but Intel needs to step up their game and compete otherwise AMD will just start charging an arm and a leg soon.

A 1.3ghz base clock with a boost clock of 3.9ghz is just about an admission that these CPUs thermally throttle like crazy under serious load. What a joke. I feel like I'm watching engadget giving intel a blowjob.

Ryzen precision boost runs their cpus at the highest clock. Higher clock speed is not the only proponent of thermals, you have tdb, chipset optimization. Boost clock spikes the power to help with sudden needs for power. My i9 is running at 5 ghz stable and thermals are well below 70 degrees, which is cooler than any laptop.
